Stevia Tincture

Stevia leaf extract comes from the stevia plant, which originates in South America.  We grow ours here on the farm during the summer months.  It will not tolerate any cold at all.  The primary components extracted from the stevia leaf are called steviol glycosides.  Stevia sweeteners are 200-350 times sweeter than sugar, which means only a very small amount is needed to match the sweetness of sugar.  In my tea I will use 1 to 2 drops, no more, or it tastes like Kool-Aid.
